The simplest way to know if you will need a license is to ask yourself "Will I make any money off the usage of the font?"
If you answered yes, then you will need a font license. Even if you're giving away free promotional material like flyers, business cards, etc -- thats considered marketing, and in return that will make you money. So you will need a font license for any marketing as well.
I'm just starting my new small business and I'm not sure if it will succeed so do I need a license?
I'm a small business too. I wouldn't be in business long if I gave license away for free. So, yes you will need a license.
What types of font license do you offer?
I only offer 2 types of font licenses
- Free for Personal Use License - You may use my fonts free of charge as long as they are used for personal use.

What are your terms for business cards, flyers, brochures? I give those away for free, so can do I need a license to use your font?

What does using a font for business related mean?
If the font is being used for anything that promotes a brand, sale, service, or a financial transaction a commercial license is required. Here is a few example of a business relate font usage which would require a commercial font license:

Font Monger is Chris Vile Fonts. Just under a different name, I'm the same dude. I think some people are a little weird of the name Chris Vile and will be cautious with purchasing a license, so I created the name Font Monger which is user friendly.
Here is all the domains that have a font store with Font Monger & Chris Vile Fonts:

View our license agreement: https://www.fontmonger.com/eula/fontmonger_eula.pdf
Can I share my font since I bought it?
No. You're not actually buying the font itself, you're buying your license to use the font commercially. Think of a font license like a driver's license to operate a motor vehicle, if you're stopped by a police officer while driving a car, you cannot give them some one else's license now can you? It works the same with font licenses! Trust me, you don't want to drop the soap in font jail.
I bought a logo off Fiverr (or any other likewise site) and they used your font - do I need a license?
Yes you still need to purchase a commercial font license. The designer also should have purchased a font license as well.

No. the license you purchase from my font store will cover all you usage in media, tv, film, etc. I do not up-charge my font prices, even if your movie is a blockbuster hit from a major studio. I do require that you mention 'Font Monger' in the credit list.
I'm a online streamer/youtuber and I used your font in my stream/video and or for my thumbnail, title, etc - do I need a font license?
Any streamer and or youtuber that accepts donations, sponsorship's, displays ads (paid or monetized) on video and or the site displaying the video will need to purchase a commercial license.
I received an e-mail asking for an order ID# from a Font Licensing Manager?
I recently hired a legal team to help me combat copyright issues with unlicensed font users. So if you received an email and already purchased a font license, just simple reply with your order ID number which can be found in your order confirmation we sent you when you purchased your font. If you've never purchased a font license and are receiving this email, please follow up with the email to get everything straighten out.
Will you sponsor me?
Most likely not, but I guess it doesn't hurt to ask. It really doesn't have any financial benefit for me to sponsor since the font market audience is very limited.
